Cookie is a 15 year old Cocker Spaniel. She and another dog were found as strays by a San Bernardino shelter. But when Cookie’s family arrived to claim her as theirs, they decided to take the young Labrador home and leave the older Spaniel behind.
It is sad to see dogs being treated like nothing more than objects. Who would trade their dog just because they got older?! That is one of the most heartless things a person could do. And to do it right in front of her too!
Witnesses say that the pooch cried when she saw her family leave without her.
The ending isn’t quite so sad because her tragic story spread and a rescue group managed to find her a foster home where she will stay permanently. Let’s hope she has loads of years left in her so she gets time to bond with her lovely new family. She won’t be put up for adoption since she has some medical issues. Hopefully, she will get all the love she deserves with her new foster family!
