On a drive home, Desi from Bali Paws spotted a weak puppy in front of a house. Desi knew the second she saw the injured pup that she needed to help.
Most rescue dogs are fearful of people, but that was not the case with this little one. “Surprisingly, he was really friendly,” said Desi, “like he came close right away.”
Desi learned that the puppy’s old family had kicked him out of the house when he got sick. Before that, he had lived in a cage for four years, his entire life.
Desi knew that he deserved so much better than he had received from his old family. She took him straight to the veterinary clinic, and when he recovered, she was there to pick him up.
Desi took him home with her to help him do the emotional healing he needed to prepare for his new life. When he arrived, Desi realized that her new foster pup knew nothing.
“The only thing he knew was that he wanted cuddles, and he wanted cuddles all the time,” said Desi. Desi’s other dogs were unhappy about the new arrival because he did not seem to understand what it meant to be a dog.
Day by day, Desi saw the pup come out of his shell, and she received a message from a woman in Germany who was looking for a dog who liked children. Desi knew just who to suggest.
A few days later, Pete flew all the way to Germany to meet his new forever family. And what a perfect family it was. Watch this adorable pup settle into his new surroundings and finally receive the love he deserved.
