TJ was the proud owner of three unique and lovable cats, one of whom suffered from cerebellar abiotrophy, a degenerative disease that affects the kitty’s motor functions. But thanks to his family, he was still a happy cat.

TJ’s first kitten was a rescue that their family snuck onto an airplane after discovering the kitten in a tree. They named this first kitty Murphy. But TJ started to think that Murphy needed a friend.

That was when they adopted Pip through Kitten Lady. They got the adorable kitten at eight weeks old, and for the first three weeks, everything seemed fine, but then TJ noticed that Pip was having trouble walking.

After several attempts at treatment and tests, the veterinarians diagnosed him with his condition. While it was a degenerative disease, Pip proved to be one determined kitty, eating his food and navigating around the house.

A few years later, TJ added one more member to their growing family. They named that cat Indy. They thought that the third feline member of their family would be a crazy kitten that wanted to play with Murphy, but their new cat surprised them all by taking on the role of emotional support for Pip.

Pip and Indy were immediately close. When Indy wasn’t playing with Murphy, he was cuddling up to Pip, giving him kisses and helping him clean. “It’s just unbelievable the way they both love each other,” said TJ.

While the future was uncertain for Pip, he was surrounded by a group of family who loved and supported him for who he was, and he will remain an inspiration for many years to come.
