As any good pet parent knows, taking care of our animals means more than giving them food and water. It is just as critical that we find ways to enrich their lives. And the best part of doing so is that we add to our lives, too.
The parents of the otter siblings, Kotaro and Hana, knew this, which is why they do their best to make sure every day brings new joy into their little otters’ lives. This day was no different.
Today, they decided to give them a surprise in a box. But the surprise inside was not toys or treats. Instead, one of the parents had hidden inside the box.
First, the parents introduced the box to their curious otters. This first time, the parents pulled out a sofa from the cardboard. While the parents opened the boxes, the two otters sat and munched on their food.
Once the sofa was out, they climbed onto it and examined their new furniture. But the parents were not done with the box yet. The next day, they moved the container into the other room, and one of the parents climbed inside.
The two otters were immediately enthralled by the new box, recognizing it as the one that the sofa had come in. But this time, there was something else familiar about the cardboard box.
When at last the dad of the otters emerged from the box, both of the otters were stunned, rushing away to take cover. Once they realized who it was they came back over, admonishing him for scaring them. Mission accomplished!
