When a task seems difficult, people will often compare it to herding cats, but one unfortunate worker might have found an even more difficult task, raking leaves with panda cubs.
At the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Mei was assigned a chore that seemed easy enough at first glance: clean up the leaves in the baby panda enclosure.
Anyone who thinks such a task would be simple has never been around panda cubs before. While they may be adorably clumsy by themselves, the chaos they create as a team makes them a formidable force.
The difficulty started the moment Mei attempted to get inside the enclosure, with a tumbling mountain of furry cubs blocking her way. Thinking quickly, she tossed her broom over to distract the little creatures.
This only creates another problem for her, as she had to wrestle the head of her broom from the lovable fur balls’ grips. Unfortunately, the panda cubs’ antics were only beginning.
As the increasingly beleaguered Nanny Mei struggled against the pandas, the fur babies were having the time of their lives, tumbling through the leaves and rolling around in the basket Mei had brought to clean up the leaves.
The bears were insistent, but after an exhausting final push, Mei abandoned her dustbin and resorted to sweeping the leaves out the door. What an exciting day for those little pandas.
