The baby elephant, Wan Mai, has the most heartwarming attachment to her two guardians: Mae Mai, her mother, and SriNuan, her nanny. It was a sunny day at the sanctuary, and they went into the water.
Mae Mai and SriNuan are standing on either side of Wan Mai. They are standing guard surrounding her. Wan Mai has grown to be confident, playful, and sometimes naughty.
When she is around her guardians, she is astoundingly affectionate and happy. The steady flow of water is excellent for the elephants who want to wash and keep cool on a warm day.
While Mae Mai and SriNuan are standing calmly in the river, Wan Mai is running around playing in the water. She is still relatively small, and the water almost reaches her belly.
It is quiet until Wan Mai starts chatting to her mom and nanny. She is very talkative, and her guardians are patient with her. They watch as Wan Mai skips around and splashes water onto them.
Wan Mai rubs herself against their legs and plays with their faces and trunks. Then she rolls in the water and submerges her entire body. Not a single part of her is left dry.
Mae Mai and SriNuan are satisfied with their time in the river and begin to walk out. Wan Mai follows them without question and never leaves their sight.
