Quý Báu, the adorable baby monkey, recently made her debut at the Philadelphia Zoo, and it seems she has already found her favorite activity: bath time. This newborn François’ langur, also known as the François’ leaf monkey, got a special treat for her first bath, and she couldn’t have been happier!

François’ langurs are an endangered species native to China and Vietnam. Unfortunately, their population has declined by almost 90% due to overhunting. To ensure the well-being of these precious creatures, the dedicated zookeepers at the Philadelphia Zoo go above and beyond to take care of them, including providing them with enjoyable bath experiences.
When Mei Mei, a François’ leaf monkey and resident of the Philadelphia Zoo, gave birth to her firstborn baby, Quý Báu, the zookeepers noticed that the new mother wasn’t attending to her newborn.

While this behavior is not uncommon for first-time mothers, the zookeepers decided to step in and take the baby monkey to a nearby animal hospital for a warm bath and some nourishment. Fortunately for all of us, they documented the entire experience.
The heartwarming video shows little Quý Báu, no bigger than a grapefruit, struggling to stay awake as the veterinarians gently lather her in soap and warm water. The relaxed baby monkey clings to her washcloth as she is carefully carried to a drying station, warmed, and blow-dried. Afterward, she is treated to the finest baby monkey nutrients from a bottle, ensuring her health and well-being.

Once Quý Báu returned to the zoo, she quickly bonded with her mother. The Philadelphia Zoo shared the exciting news on its Facebook page: “The whole family is doing great!” Knowing this precious baby monkey is thriving and finding comfort with her mother and the rest of her family is heartening.
The video of Quý Báu’s bath time quickly captured the hearts of animal lovers worldwide. So it’s no surprise that people couldn’t resist the sight of a tiny monkey enjoying her bath and receiving tender care. The adorable and heartwarming nature of the video has led to an outpouring of love and support for Quý Báu and her fellow François langurs at the Philadelphia Zoo.
