Like many first-time cat owners, Albert felt a little overwhelmed when he brought his Bengal cat kitten home with him, but from the beginning, Mia made his home a happier one.
Since he had decided to adopt a Bengal cat, Albert knew he would need to get creative to help her let out all her energy. “I had to find ways to enrich her life and drain her energy,” said Albert.
So, Albert trained Mia to go on leash walks. “Seeing her outdoors and embracing every new input that she was receiving made me realize she’s way happier outdoors than indoors,” said Albert.
Once he saw how well his cat did outdoors, Albert decided to expand Mia’s adventures to more than walks. He took his cat on sailboats and bike rides, through the city.
“When we ride, she doesn’t meow. She takes it full on,” said Albert. Albert was kind enough to provide a safe basket for her to ride in, but Mia insisted on being close to her human and riding on his shoulder instead.
But Mia’s favorite outdoor activity was going on hikes with her dad. “When the weather is nice we go on hiking adventures,” said Albert. “It’s where she has the most fun.”
Mia was not the only one who benefitted from their outdoor time together. “Her energy pushed me outside of my home and going on adventures again when safe,” said Albert. “I became a way more caring person once I got her.”
