Bison rancher discovers the origin of the mysterious cows on his land

Inspired by ‘Dances with Wolves,’ Dusty founded a small bison ranch to try and revive the American Bison. As new ranchers, his family has had to learn a lot about the business on the go. In this video, Dusty shares a recent issue: unexpected guests.

Several cows have found their way onto the Cross Timbers Bison Ranch for the second time. Dusty spots them and gives a short tour of his acreage while finding out where they came from.

Dusty points out his small grove of pecan trees and the open prairie of his ranch in Oklahoma. He drives his pick up throughout the property, looking for how the cows got in.

Finally, he locates an open spot near the border of his property where a neighbor has not kept up the enclosure. This has let over a dozen cattle get into the bison ranch.

Dusty shares that he’s contacted the neighbor before as this is not the first time these cows have strayed onto his land. However, the other rancher doesn’t seem too worried about his herd.

Dusty can get some cow feed and lure the cows into an enclosure to keep them safe and make sure they don’t ruin his property. He’s grateful that all it takes is a bit of food to get the cows moving.

Dusty hopes his neighbor reaches out soon. He believes if the cows remain on his property, unclaimed, after 30 days, they are technically his property. However, Dusty is satisfied with raising bison and hopes his neighbor fixes the issue quickly.
