It was a bright sunny day in Kruger Park when a leopard and porcupine crossed paths. They were in the middle of an open and empty road with people watching from a safe distance.

The sounds of birds singing filled the air, and the leopard overlooked the porcupine at first. Spotted fur and big teeth, the young cat, was busy grooming himself.
Behind the wild feline, the porcupine was shuffling around and on the defensive. The porcupine could have left, but he stuck around to perhaps teach the leopard an important lesson.

The leopard continued to lick his paws, and the porcupine had his sharp spines ready for anything. With quills along his back, he had to face away from the leopard to protect himself.
After a while, the leopard finally noticed the confident creature. The big spotted cat walked towards his target, and the porcupine was prepared for it. It seems the leopard had no experience with prickly prey.

Sharp spines faced the leopard, and he went in for a quick swipe more than once. The porcupine only turned momentarily to catch a glance of where the leopard was.
The spines pierced the leopard’s skin, and he had to pull it out with his mouth. There was blood, and the cat learned his lesson. He was defeated, and the porcupine walked away unharmed.
