Deciding to bring a baby into your life is a big decision for any family. Not only does a baby need a lot of material comforts, but they also need a lot of your time.

This difference is keenly felt by our animal companions. A baby in the house means that a pet’s parents will have a lot less time to devote to their animals’ needs.
For that reason, it is imperative to introduce your animals to their baby siblings early. While many pets instinctively know when a person is pregnant, seeing the baby for themselves is a whole different experience.

When the parents of Gotcha the Cockatoo decided to have a baby, they set aside time to introduce each of the pets to the small addition to their big family.
While Baby Oliver was asleep, the parents brought out Gotcha the Cockatoo first. His reaction was calm and curious. As he tilted his head to get a better look at the baby boy, you could almost see the wonder playing across his avian face.

After showing Gotcha’s parrot sibling, Letty, the newest arrival, the dogs were brought in. Predictably, the two dogs were fascinated by their baby brother. Still, like their other animal siblings, they were calm and quiet.
Watching the animals interact for the first time with their baby brother is heartwarming. Oliver, born on March 16, 2016, is sure to grow up with a loving family around him.
