You can’t help but want to scream at the bear, “Get off the incline, dummy! Walk around the snowfield.”
Glacier National Park is home to many bears. Even in the summer months, some snowfields are too challenging for any person or animal to cross.
An energetic bear gallops across the field and up an icy incline. Repeatedly, he slides to the left and slips, almost like he is skating.
The bear doesn’t give up or try to find a more straightforward route across to the other side. Maybe it enjoys sliding on the snow.
Even people need the right equipment to get across a snowfield. Show shoes, skis, and ski poles would keep hikers from sliding down the slope.
