Huskies were originally bred to pull sleds, offer companionship, and protect their owners. The snow dogs have become a popular breed, even in places where it doesn’t snow that often.

Though Huskies may not be used as service dogs to pull sleds, they retain their sweet qualities of companionship. Juno, a gentle Husky, is the big sister to twin baby girls, Hailey and Kaylee.
In this video, Juno sits with the babies as they enjoy playtime on the floor. The twins can’t do much more than sit still and reach out for things, but they’re having a blast with Juno by their side.

Because Huskies are naturally “pack animals,” meaning they enjoy being part of a group, it’s best to introduce your Husky to new family members as soon as possible. Huskies will have a better opportunity to integrate new babies into their pack and figure out their own hierarchy in the family.
Juno is a great example of how sweet and gentle Huskies can be. She understands that Hailey and Kaylee are fragile creatures. However, Juno also knows to keep herself just far enough away so that the babies can’t hit or pull at her.

The Husky goes back and forth between the twins, treating each girl according to her personality. With the shy, quiet twin, Juno is gentle. With the louder, more energetic twin, the Husky is more active.
Watching Juno interact with the twins is a good reminder that dogs can be sweet playmates for babies and children. Dogs and children can form strong bonds that last a lifetime.
