It is no secret that dogs can be wonderful guardians. They are loyal and thoughtful and kind, but sometimes they can end up protective of the wrong things like this German Shepherd was.
It seemed like a normal sunny day in suburbia. There was not a cloud in the sky, but the German Shepherd knew better than to let her guard down for even a minute.
Her baby sibling was standing beside the grass as the sprinklers went back and forth over the lawn, and the little one reached out their hand into the stream. As the water sprayed on their hand, the baby let out an adorable giggle.
The German Shepherd saw the threat for what it was. After her baby sibling put their hand in a second time, she intervened, licking her little sibling’s face to ensure they were alright.
Then, the German Shepherd attacked the sprinkler, diving in with her teeth with all her protective fury. But the sprinkler was ready, sending a spray of water right into the German Shepherd’s face.
While her family laughed, the German Shepherd dug deeper and did not relent her assault. Again and again, she dove into the fray, water spraying into her mouth and nose.
In one final assault, she pounced on the sprinkler with all her might, but as she ran back for cover from the wet onslaught, she realized there was another sprinkler threatening her family. As goofy as it was, you have to admire her drive.
