Raider is a K9 that helps her dad, Phil Ritchey, at work whenever they are on the clock. She is also a playful dog who races her dad up the stairs whenever she hears him going up.
Phil has another dog, Cooper, and he is inseparable from Raider. They do everything together, and Phil always takes her on car rides. Cooper gets slightly jealous that Raider gets to work with Phil.
Raider has an exceptional nose and is skilled at being a narcotics detection dog. Another dog works with them, and his name is Mattis.
Phil recalls how thrilled Raider was when she first met Mattis. Her tail was wagging wildly, and they began to play together. It was surprising because, according to Phil, police dogs typically don’t get along.
Mattis and Raider have a great relationship. Their size difference is really obvious when they are next to each other. Mattis is around 95 pounds and is massive, while Raider is about 50 pounds.
Phil spoke about the challenge of his work. He sees tragic accidents and people going through the worst times of their lives. Raider is always there to make everything better with her kisses.
Whenever he is having a bad day, he can call Raider to come up to him. It makes his job easier and better to have his best friend beside him all the time.
