Hearts melt as rescued white fawns dance off into the sunset

When most people go into their backyard, they might expect to see a bird or maybe a squirrel, but when the owner of Fuzzy Fawn Wildlife went into her backyard she discovered an injured white fawn named Boo.

Unlike most of the baby deer the owner had rescued, Boo wanted nothing to do with her rescuer. But the owner knew just what to do to get the white fawn settled into her temporary home.

“Because she wanted nothing to do with me, I put her with the other fawns quickly,” she said. One of the first fawns Boo met was a baby named Little Nugget.

While Boo was quick to befriend Little Nugget, she remained distant from her rescuer. “[The other baby deer] would come to me, but she was always hesitant,” said the owner. “It took me forever to bottle-feed her.”

But Boo’s rescuer was persistent in her efforts, and Boo began to trust the woman. As she grew, Boo became a mother figure for the other baby deer under the woman’s care. When March arrived, the three deer were strong enough to go back into the wild.

That first day, the baby deer stayed with their rescuer for most of the day. “They were just exploring and running and jumping and just testing out everything,” said the owner.

Over the next few weeks, the woman checked back in on the babies to make sure they were doing well, but eventually, she realized it was time to let them live their lives.
