Meet the Guinness World Records’ Tallest Male Dog

While every dog is special in their way, Zeus the Great Dane measured above the rest – literally. Zeus was named World’s Tallest Male Dog by the Guinness Book of World Records.

At two years old, Zeus struck a stunning silhouette, standing at a jaw-dropping 3 feet 5 inches. Keep in mind, that is when Zeus is on all fours. Just imagine if that big dog tried to jump on you.

But Brittany pointed out that Zeus was not a dog anyone needed to worry about. “He is also very laid back,” said Brittany. “He loves everybody. When he gets excited, it’s about ten minutes. Then he runs around, and then he’s tired.”

Even the best dog has their disobedient moments, though. “The only time he’s really naughty is [when he takes] food off the counter, and he likes to steal the baby’s pacifier,” said Brittany.

When Brittany, Zeus’s mom, adopted her Great Dane, fame had been the last thing on her mind. “The award for us really just recognizes how special Zeus is,” said Brittany.

Like most dogs, Zeus was a big part of his family. “Zeus has absolutely changed our family,” said Brittany. “He brings so much joy. He’s such a loving, loving dog.”

Zeus was particularly important to Brittany’s teenage son. “You don’t find one without the other. They love being together,” she said. “He brings a lot of joy to our family.”
