During a heavy downpour, a mother chicken sheltered her babies from the rain. Someone at a fish market in India captured the footage of the delicate moment under the wet weather.
Grey skies hung above like a blanket. Small puddles formed around the bird and her chicks. The baby chickens were hiding under their mother’s wings. It was a tiny unmoving flock.
The mother’s black feathers were soaked, but her red face remained stony and stalwart. Her five chicks gathered around her for warmth, and they had their faces covered.
Several legs could be seen peeking out from the feathered canopy. They were surrounded by discarded materials and other trash from the market. Even the noise didn’t seem to frighten them.
Under the raindrops, they didn’t move. The puddles continued to ripple out around them. Surprisingly it was a relatively calm and serene scene. The mother and her babies could only wait until the weather calmed down.
People watched the chicken and were in awe of her motherly love. She was clearly drenched, but it was more important for her to take care of her babies.
The mother chicken showed the kind of unconditional love animals is capable of. All it took was a careful observer to catch the tender moment under the rain.
