Boomer the Pittie was scared and cautious when his rescuer Sam brought him to her home. The dog was unsure of what to do and wouldn’t even go inside her house.

Sam lived in Houston and saw four stray dogs she wanted to rescue. One of them was Boomer. The nights were cold, and they may not make it through the harsh weather.
There were traps set up, and Boomer was wary. Another dog was caught and rescued. Sam felt terrible for having to leave Boomer outside for another night.

A friend of Sam’s saw Boomer on another day and set up a trap for him. Boomer was then caught, and Sam decided to foster him. She found that Boomer was affectionate but lacked confidence.
He was eventually adopted and given the name Porter by his new family. Porter was very different from the first day he arrived at Sam’s home.

Mike and Caitlin made Porter feel at home by showering him with love and food. Porter opened up, and he seemed to understand that he was in a better place in his life.
It has only been two months, and Mike has to remind himself that Porter hasn’t been with them for that long. He has brought so much joy to their family, and they surprised him with gifts to celebrate Porter’s adoption.
