Chipmunks are very lively critters who can move around swiftly. They are members of the squirrel family and have big glossy eyes, round cheeks, and beautiful stripes with bushy tails. Thus, making them a favorite of many people.
Chipmunk lovers are found all over the world. However, this story is about a young girl living in Canada. She stays beside a lake and loves to share her interaction with wildlife in the forest. She is incredibly close to chipmunks and has even given names to all of them.
The cute chipmunks also trust her. They never hesitate to come close to the girl and take food from her hand. The girl first meets Els, the cutest chipmunk, during her recent visit to the forest. Elsa instantly takes the strawberry from the girl’s hand and nibbles on it.
Elsa soon slows down as she gets full and decides to give up mid-way. Later on, the girl calls out for the other chipmunk Joony. This is when the cute little chipmunk comes over to the young girl’s house. She offers him a strawberry as well. However, Joony is fond of nuts and, at first, hesitates to take the strawberry.
However, after much persuasion from the girl, the picky chipmunk Joony nibbles on the strawberry and leaves it. Soon the girl walks into the forest and meets Bujji, who also nibbles on the strawberry for a while. But later gets up on the girl’s shoulder to find seeds in the girl’s pocket.
Later, the girl walks back to her home, where she sees Joony sitting on the table near the porch facing the river. Joony approaches the girl again and nibbles on the strawberry. He even scares away the other chipmunk Wally when she comes close.
As soon as Joony leaves Wally returns and starts eating the strawberry from the girl’s hand. Wally gently takes the strawberry from the girl’s hand and enjoys the delicious snack given by the girl. Even Jenny loves the strawberry and takes it away to the forest and eats it. Chipmunks coming so close to the girl prove how much they trust her and enjoy being friends with a human.
