When JoAnn Wiltz and Alex Babcock from Hope for Paws heard about an abandoned Pit Bull, they rushed to the scene. When they found her, the sweet pup was terrified.

The Pit Bull had taken shelter in a dumpster behind a local restaurant. The two rescuers were determined to win the dog’s trust and help her find the help she needed.
When they saw the scared pup hiding behind one of the dumpsters, Alex and JoAnn remembered another dog they had rescued from a similar situation. They knew they could win this little one’s trust if they were patient.

Unfortunately, time was not on their side. Shortly after the rescuers arrived, the garbage truck pulled into the parking lot. JoAnn and Alex would have to quickly get the Pit Bull out of the dumpster.
They pulled a page from their previous rescue and used a burger to win over the nervous pup. Bit by bit, the Pit Bull warmed up to her rescuers. But she still was not ready to leave her home behind.

Slowly, the rescuers guided the Pit Bull out of the dumpster, but they waited to call the dog into the car. First, they wanted to show her some of the love she had been missing. Carefully, they gave the neglected dog some belly rubs, and she was in bliss.
The loving Pit Bull even gave her rescuers licks, which was how she earned her name, Kisses. Thanks to her rescuers, Kisses could finally start her journey to finding a new forever home.
