When Pebbles arrived at her foster mom’s home, Carter, she was one week away from having her puppies. While Carter knew she wanted to help, she had no idea what was in store for her.

After a week of housing her “chunky monkey,” Pebbles went into labor. She had her first few puppies around 2 a.m., and at five puppies, Carter thought Pebbles had finished.
But then, Pebbles started having contractions again. Every time another puppy came out, Carter thought it certainly had to be the last one, but they kept coming. Finally, Pebbles birthed her final baby, and Carter was shocked.

She counted all the puppies nursing at the exhausted mother, and she could hardly believe it. All in all, Pebbles had birthed 14 puppies, over double the average amount for canines.
While her babies were growing stronger, Pebbles was a supermom. She fed her puppies, made sure they were clean, and played with them, which often meant letting the adorable pups crawl all over her.

Together, Carter and Pebbles worked to get the puppies ready for adoption day. When the day came, it was emotional for everyone. Still, thanks to the efforts of their foster mom and biological mom, the pups found forever homes.
But the little ones weren’t the only ones to be adopted. Pebbles, now called Zara, moved in with Cassandra and her son Wyatt. This outstanding mother certainly earned a home where she is loved and cared for.
