Teaching your dog a new trick can sometimes be a difficult task. But if you have a compassionate, intelligent older dog as this couple did, that task can become a whole lot easier.
For weeks, one couple had tried to teach their puppy, Willow, to walk through the doggy door when he wanted to go in and out of the house. But no matter what they did, Willow did not seem to understand.
But one day, all of that changed thanks to her older sister, Blue. After a few minutes of urging Willow to use the doggy door, the little puppy was back at the glass door.
Willow’s ears drooped down and she scratched at the door. Not comprehending that her parents had already made a way for her to come back inside, Willow waited for the glass door to open.
Then, the couple’s dog, Blue, surprised the whole family by walking over to the doggy door. In an astonishing display of intelligence and empathy, Blue nodded to the doggy door.
Curious, the little puppy wandered over to her older sister. Blue gave another nod, and for the first time, Willow pushed against the doggy door. As she pushed the door open, Blue watched from the window.
Finally, Willow stepped inside, and her tail immediately started wagging. Like an adorable little child who had just learned to spell their name, Willow ran to her mom in triumph.
