Husband and wife, Emily and Davy, adopted a dog named Tiger. Soon after, they realized Tiger needed a playmate, so they searched for another dog to adopt.

They were sent a photo of Kendall, and Emily fell in love. Kendall was hours away from being euthanized. This family truly saved her.
However, when Kendall first came to live with them, she was very mischievous. She would tear things up and make a mess all over the house. Instead of calling it quits, the family patiently taught Kendall how to behave.

Emily became pregnant, and the couple was expecting their first child. Kendall started following Emily around and became her shadow.
When they brought their son, Austin, home from the hospital, the protector in Kendall emerged. She stayed with the baby wherever he went. When Austin was a few months old, Kendall would lie next to him on the ground as he had his tummy time.

Emily would wake up to Kendall’s cries to alert her that the baby was awake. As Austin grew, Emily would catch Kendall on the baby monitor–going into Austin’s room almost every hour just to make sure he was okay.
Austin has a stuffed dog that resembles Kendall that he takes with him everywhere, even to preschool for when he takes naps. Because this family didn’t let go of a “problem” dog, their son now has a best friend and loyal protector.
