When Knine Rescue Inc. first found the two dogs, Angelica and Spud, they had been living inside of their cages for six years. When the team rescued the two dogs, Angelic and Spud were overjoyed to be free, but their journeys were only beginning.
At the shelter, the sad expressions the dogs had worn in their crates were gone. There was only joy. They jumped around the shelter, and their tails wagged the hardest they had ever wagged.
It took a lot of work, but gradually the team at Knine Rescue Inc. helped rehabilitate Spud and Angelica. Eventually, the two dogs went to separate foster families to prepare for their forever homes.
In the care of her foster family, Angelica got a special treat. She had no idea what to expect when they pulled up to the drive-thru, and they made an order just for her. After six years in a crate, Angelica got to try her first hamburger, and she was an instant fan, chomping down her treat with a relish.
Once she and Spud were ready, they traveled to their new, happier and healthier forever homes. Angelica even got a new adoptive sibling that she loved to play with in her new parent’s yard.
One day, after a long time apart, the two dogs were reunited once more by their new parents. And it was like they had never been separated. Angelica immediately started playing with her Spud, letting him jump onto her like they had when they were younger.
While their stories began with tragedy, the rescuers and the dogs’ new families gave them a second chance at life. Thanks to their help, the dogs would never have to spend another day behind bars.
