When Howl of a Dog found the puppy Arnia in the yard of a rundown garage, she was emaciated and sleeping on the warmest place on a sunny winter day, a stack of tiles.
She and several other dogs, including her mother, had lived in that yard for some time. They were cold and hungry and in desperate need of help. Fortunately, Howl of a Dog was there.
When they brought Arnia and her family back to the veterinarian, she was severely anemic, dehydrated and underweight. She was so exhausted, and all she wanted to do was sleep.
So Howl of a Dog set to work, feeding her and helping her regain her health. It was an arduous process, but one month later, Arnia had made a miraculous recovery.
While she might have been two to three years old, she had the heart of a puppy, finding joy in all areas of her life and playing with any toy she could get her paws on.
She was even happy when she went to do her vet check-ups, happy to greet a new person, eat some tasty treats and get all the loving pats on the head that she so deserved.
Arnia’s name means “as strong as an eagle,” and she certainly lived up to her name. Despite everything that she had been through, she lived every moment to the fullest.
