One day when Hannah and her partner Justin were driving home on the freeway, Justin spotted a piglet running across the road, and they decided to rescue the little one.
Hannah admitted that it was a wonder Justin even spotted the tiny piglet. “I can’t even believe he saw her,” she said. “She was so tiny and she was so fast!”
Hannah and Justin were still three hours away from home, and they had no idea what to do. The little piglet, who they named Bubbles, seemed so weak and tired. “I didn’t think she would make the car trip home,” said Hannah.
Fortunately, all Bubbles needed was some milk. The moment the couple arrived home, they gave the piglet some milk and she perked right up. Shortly after, they brought Bubbles to a veterinarian.
The veterinarian filled in the gaps in Bubbles’ unique story. “She had damages on her back leg and her eye was kind of bruised and scraped,” said Hannah. The veterinarian also told the couple that Bubbles was only a few days old. “They think that she was born on a truck and that she had just fallen off.”
At her temporary home with Hannah and Justin, Bubbles grew more and more confident with every day. Bubbles played with the couple’s Chocolate Labrador and went on adventures in Hannah and Justin’s backyard.
The day Hannah and Justin found a forever home for Bubbles was bittersweet, but they knew that Bubble would be happier at the sanctuary. Still, Hannah and Justin do visit the growing pig whenever they can. “I’m just really proud of her,” said Hannah.
