She’s been away for weeks. The horse’s reaction when he sees her is totally cute!

As anyone who’s been a pet owner knows, the emotional bond we have with our pets is a strong one and when we leave the house, our four legged friends can get more than a little anxious. Even if we were out only for a few hours, we get greeted at the door by a frenzy of joy and relief. You might normally think of this “You’re home! I’m so glad to see you! I’m so relieved!” attitude as being something cats and dogs do. But what about horses?

Horses were a cornerstone of human civilization from the time they were domesticated over 4,000 years ago until well into the 20th century. The ability of horses to pull plows and haul heavy loads revolutionized agriculture, increasing output, and this had profound consequences for human society. Horses have also been of great use to people in transportation and in warfare, again, until relatively recently. Nowadays, horses are more often admired for their own sake rather than for the work they can do. Horses are even kept purely as companion animals.

A beautiful gray and white horse was left pining for his human mom when she went on vacation for three weeks. Even this brief time apart seems to have affected both this young woman and her horse. When she got back home, the first thing she wanted to do was rush over to the field and visit her horse. Their reunion was filmed by a friend and you’ll find that video posted below. As you’ll see, the horse notices her when she’s still some distance away and gallops toward her, stopping short at a safe distance. The horse then gets some loving pats, a heartfelt hug, and it’s all capped off by some mutual nuzzling.

Surprised by how much a horse could miss his human? Or is that no surprise at all? Let us know in the comments at Facebook and be sure to like and share!
