When Todd from Arthur’s Acres Family Sanctuary first heard about the Kunekune pigs, Billy and Moby, they were living on a blanket in a wet, cold basement. When he couldn’t get the two pigs off his mind, he knew he needed to adopt them.

When the day came, the pigs were ecstatic. On Moby’s trip home from the veterinarian after being rescued, she started nuzzling him and nibbling at his ear. She knew that she was coming home.
But as it turned out, Billy and Moby were not the only Kunekune that would benefit from this transition. Arthur’s Acres Family Sanctuary was also home to another Kunekune needing a friend.

Hans was brought to the sanctuary before Billy and Moby after his mate passed away. Since then, he was somewhat of a loner, all the more so because Kunekune graze longer than most of the other pigs.
While transitions can sometimes be complex for pigs, Moby adjusted almost immediately, and Billy didn’t take long either. Of the two of them, Moby was the most gregarious.

Whenever someone said Moby’s name, he would come running and snorting as loud as he could, and when Tony knelt on the ground, Moby would lean into him and cling to his side.
Thanks to the efforts of this loving, wonderful man, these three pigs found their forever homes. Here, they can feel loved, run around, and eat as many strawberries as possible.
