Soldiers come home to their best friends: Dogs

The soldier with the dachshund is my favorite!

It’s time to pull out your tissues and make sure you’re somewhere you feel comfortable. This video is sure to melt even the coldest heart and bring tears to your eyes.

This is a compilation video of truly brave men and women returning home to be reunited with their very best friends: their dogs.

Nobody gives kisses like a dog that wasn’t sure if the soldier was ever coming home. These pups can’t contain their excitement to see their human mamas and papas return from their time away.

Many of the soldiers return home to large breeds, like Great Danes or Golden Retriever. Watch for the young soldier who gets covered in kisses from a little dachshund.

There’s also a feature of a German Shepherd who lost her leg in Afghanistan. After being awarded a medal, she and her sergeant retired to live a life of peace and joy. They’ve both earned it.

Another clip features a marine who is dealing with PTSD. His family gives him an early Christmas present. Inside the gift box is the cutest little puppy. The soldier is brought to tears–he knows he just met his new best friend.

Many soldiers have service dogs after their time in the military to help them ease back into civilian life. These pups can help with anxiety and stress. Veterans feel these dogs are more than pets–they’re family. God bless all the military men and women, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
