When Allison was pregnant with her and her partner Matt’s child, she was pretty certain the dogs understood what was going on. But it all clicked when they brought the dog’s baby sister home from the hospital.
Matt and Allison were a little nervous about how the dogs would respond to the new addition to the family, but the dogs were gentle and immediately bonded with their baby sister, Jordan.
From the beginning, both dogs were by her side, but Mason took this connection a step further. He followed his baby sister wherever she went, acting as both a safety blanket and a guardian to the little one.
Mason and Jordan developed a special sibling connection that was a joy to witness. “It’s crazy to see the way they interact,” said Matt. “It’s like they’re talking in their own little language.”
As Jordan got older, Mason continued to be there beside her every step of the way. Literally. Several months after she came home, it looked like Jordan would take her first steps.
And one day, Allison looked over and there was Jordan leaning on Mason for support. With her canine sibling beside her, Jordan took her first halting steps toward her mom.
Allison and Matt were happy knowing that their daughter had a built-in playmate for life, someone who would watch out for her and support her. “They’re certainly inseparable,” said Matt. “And they’re certainly best buddies.”
