If a picture speaks a thousand words, a video must be worth a million. And, let me tell you, the video we have for you today will leave you spellbound. In it, you’ll meet Gito, a little orangutan who went through a harrowing experience.
Back in 2015, animal rescuers from the International Animal Rescue organization found Gito in a tiny cardboard box, under the unrelenting sun. He had lost almost all the hair from his body and, to some, looked like he had been mummified. But Gito was alive and, thanks to the quick thinking and hard work of the animal rescuers, he’s now a happy, healthy, and thriving three-year-old orangutan.
The journey from near-death to vibrant life wasn’t easy. Gito had been orphaned after his mother was shot by poachers. He was sold for $30, and his new owner kept him in a tiny box, which had almost killed him. But the rescuers didn’t give up on him, driving him fast to the nearest veterinary clinic, where he received the care and attention he desperately needed.
It took a lot of work and a lot of love, but today, Gito is a transformed animal. His orange hair has regrown, and his skin is healthy again. He loves fruit and other types of snacks, but, most importantly, he is now in a place where he can be loved. He’s currently living in a wooded area with other orphaned orangutans who are on their way to adolescence, learning how to live in the wild once more.
It’s heartbreaking to think that Gito’s story isn’t unique. Animals like him are suffering and dying due to the systematic destruction of the rainforest, primarily for palm oil production. But thanks to organizations like International Animal Rescue, there is hope for these creatures. With their continued work, they are ensuring that animals like Gito are given the second chance they deserve.
Watching Gito’s video and seeing his incredible transformation is a testament to the power of love, care, and determination. We encourage you to watch the video and share it with others. It’s important to pay tribute to all the heroes working for animal rights around the world. So share this video because every animal deserves a chance to thrive, to be loved, and to be cared for.
Share because your action will give animals a voice.
