This Version Of The Classic “Let Your Glory Fall” Is Beyond Beautiful. I Have Chills!

Another beautiful release from contemporary Christian artist, Kari Jobe. Ever since her first album came out in 2009, Jobe has been wowing the music industry with her gorgeous voice, unique compositions, and—most importantly—her deep, abiding love for God. Every time I see a new song of hers come out, I get a little thrill, knowing that I’m in for a treat that will both please my ears and feed my soul. “Let Your Glory Fall” is no exception. In fact, this may be my favorite Jobe song, yet!

“Let Your Glory Fall” was originally written and recorded by Don Men for his album of the same name, released in 1997. The album, which he recorded live at the First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, hit number 30 on the Billboard charts for contemporary Christian music. Now, Jobe takes this beautiful song into her capable hands and creates something altogether new, without losing any of the song’s original power.

The song starts with the lyrics, “Father of creation, unfold your sovereign plan. Raise up a chosen generation that will march through the land.” The lyrics are a resounding call to action, and rededication to God’s plan. Jobe imparts the lyrics with a sense of urgency and love, a particular mix that matches perfectly with the message of “Let Your Glory Fall.” The video is recorded in a studio, letting Jobe’s talents and the lovely accompanying acoustic guitar shine through, without any distractions. Watching Jobe clutch the microphone, her brow creased in concetration, really ehlps me feel like she believes in every word she sings. This is such a gorgeous, and stirring rendition.
