The bull elk reminds me of an awkward guy in a bar looking for a date. He seems to say, “Do you live around here?”
A bull elk approaches a horse across a wooden fence. The horse greets him with a nibble. The two large animals communicate with nuzzles.
The elk lowers his head like he still has antlers he can proudly display. The flat bone nubs on his head are not threatening, though.
The young horse nips at the elk and seems to be smelling him, trying to understand if this unusual creature is her friend or foe.
Both animals decide that the other one is not their kind, so they eventually turn away from each other. The elk continues down the road.
