Baby albino elephant bonds with her adoptive mother

If you were looking for a nice break from the day, take a look at this calming scene of a herd of elephants enjoying a hot day in the South African savannah.

A clear blue sky spread over their heads, as Khanyisa, the baby albino elephant, and her herd followed a giraffe to a local watering hole. It looked like a perfect day for a swim.

As the family waded into the water, the giraffe calmly walked to the other side of the water. The scene was peaceful. The elephants splashed water onto their backs and drank the cool water.

Khanyisa, the same baby elephant who had hated getting her feet wet on the grass, decided to make the most of her size, the hot day and the big pool.

Surprising her caretakers who watched from a short distance away, the baby albino elephant ducked herself into the water. While the members of the herd moved around her, she rolled and splashed around like a child in a kiddy pool.

After cooling off in the water, Khanyisa and her family left the pool and walked to a patch of bushes to do some foraging. Khanyisa used that time to spend some quality time with an elephant named Lundi, which was critical for an orphan like Khanyisa.

It does not take long to see that this orphan elephant had a loving family around her, from the elephants that stood guard while she played to her adoptive mother, Lundi.
