When Stephanie Maldonado, a dog instructor based in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, found a litter of abandoned opossums, she immediately reached out to the local wildlife rescue program for help. However, upon realizing that the center was full, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Luckily for these opossums, Maldonado’s pooch Pretinha was more than happy to take on the role of the adoptive mother. Within days of being introduced to the little babes, the six furry friends were inseparable.
It seems the blended brood’s favorite pastimes include bedtime cuddles, using mom as a jungle gym, and, as captured in this adorable video, taking leisurely strolls together. Who knew these two species could make such a happy family.
