This is an alternative type of horse training that relies on physical communication, intuition, and instinct, instead of relying on pushing and harsh discipline. It’s a natural style of training that takes a lot of patience, but one that can bring impressive results and a very deep bond between rider and horse.
See the amazing results that David has achieved with his horses! He makes it look easy, but it’s quite the opposite. Without a horse seat or the help of a saddle, horses only fully trust a human who rides them if they’re confident, cool-headed, and stable, like the horses are. This is allegedly because horses only trust those whom they can relate to. David Lichman has managed to achieve this trust with his horses, and what he has created with them is something that I can hardly believe even when I see it.
