Mama deer introduces her babies to her dog best friend

Most people believe that dogs are made to be friends with humans. But our four-legged companions are good at connecting with other species, including animals like this adorable mama deer, Buttons.

When Lorrie and her dog, G-Bro, first met Buttons, the mama deer needed help recovering from a car accident. “It took a lot of work, but our whole goal was to let her be wild but also just become a part of the family,” said Lorrie.

Lorrie’s friend had raised a deer, so they provided Lorrie the knowledge to help Buttons recover. While she lived with Lorrie and her family, Buttons grew close with G-Bro, and the feeling was mutual.

When Buttons was recovered, Lorrie released the mama deer into the wild. But this was not the end of their story. Buttons continued to come back to see her canine friend.

And one day, Buttons returned with a surprise for the family: her babies! “The first time Buttons brought her babies to meet our dog was [exciting] for all of us,” said Lorrie.

Over the years, Buttons and G-Bro grew even closer. They went on walks together, played in the snow and cleaned each other. “I think G-Bro and Buttons just mean family to each other,” said Lorrie.

11 years later, Buttons and G-Bro were still close. “I think they’re both blessed to have each other,” said Lorrie. “They have each other’s backs, and they love each other, and they will always remember and love each other.”
