As many pet owners will agree, the rhythms of a day change after you adopt a fur baby. That was definitely the case for this couple who took care of these two otters for years.

For Hana and her brother Kotaro, the day started early. The two little ones woke up around six in the morning and sat down with their parents at the kitchen table for breakfast.

After breakfast, Hana and Kotaro take baths. But unlike many toddlers, Kotaro and Hana could not be more excited about being in the water. Most of the time, they would get distracted and wrestle instead.

When the otters were cleaned up, they went their separate ways for their pre-naptime routines. While Kotaro built his renowned forts out of toilet seat covers and blankets, Hana practiced her “juggling” skills.

Hana’s juggling consisted of tossing a shiny tile back and forth between her hands. Her parents also compared her nap ritual to practicing air hockey. “Nothing can stop her once she starts playing hockey,” said one of her parents.

After playtime in the pool, Hana and Kotaro spent time inside playing with their stuffed animals. Most days, Hana would practice her hockey skills more. Sometimes she even would toss three of them back and forth at once.

Even after all that heart-melting fun, the day was not over for these two little ones. If you have ever wondered what life looks like for an otter owner, you should check out this video.
