One of Danny’s best friends is a wild crow named Salem. Danny’s jaw dropped when Salem flew to him for the first time and landed on his shoulder.
He couldn’t believe it, and Salem just stayed there and spent time with him. Danny loves animals so much, especially the ones that are more difficult to win over.
Salem was a wild bird, and there was already trust between them when they first met. Though there was still more to earn and work for. Danny sometimes sang for Salem when he came to visit.
The first gift Danny got from Salem was a dime. Danny wanted to return the favor, and he offered Salem a dime the next time he saw him. Salem grabbed the dime from his palm and flew away.
Danny loved how playful Salem was, and there were times he was on the verge of tears because of how much joy he felt. He couldn’t believe it when Salem spent time in the car with him.
Salem was perched on his arm and was very gentle with his beak. He never hurt Danny, and he was very talkative. Danny believes that animals bring out the best in everyone.
Salem changed Danny’s life. Danny went outside more frequently because he liked to walk around and spend time with him. The relationship reminded Danny how meaningful connections are, not just with people but with animals too.
